janegodzilla: (MY SPOON IS TOO BIG)
I woke up this morning to find my car covered in two inches of wet, slushy snow, which was odd because it had been pouring buckets all day yesterday and I had no idea snow was even in the forecast. Or that it would stick. And now it's clear and sunny out? Weird.

New Year's Eve was pretty good, except for the part where my final drink of the night hit me like a ton of bricks and I went from having fun to being completely miserable in about two seconds flat. Luckily, we were back at Nate's when that happened, and the situation was resolved by him putting my drunk and unhappy ass to bed. I slept through midnight, but that's okay -- there was lots of cuddling to be had the next morning and I didn't have to work, so ultimately it all turned out okay.

(Good god, I'm hungry. I didn't eat much of anything for dinner last night because I was kind of queasy all day, and the cafeteria I usually go to for breakfast is closed today for some stupid reason. I could go over to the main hospital cafeteria, but...blehhh. I think I just keep hoping cookies or a bagel will appear if I think about it hard enough.)

I actually managed to follow through on most of my big resolutions last year (find a new job, go back to school, pay off the debt, lose weight), so this year I'm going to mix it up a little and focus on smaller stuff. In 2009, I plan to:

- eat healthier
- cook at least one real meal a week (because sandwiches DO NOT COUNT)
- get back to writing at least 750 words a day
- start and complete one knitting project per month (two months if it's a big project)
- save enough money to be a full month ahead in my rent/bills
- write more to my family

I deeply suspect that I'm going to struggle most with the healthy eating thing, but we'll see. 2009 ahoy!
