the "captain obvious" award of the day
The Ambien I picked up from the pharmacy today came with the following label:
"Warning: Product May Cause Drowsiness. Do Not Operate Heavy Machinery."
...
Do not operate...? May cause drowsiness?! Considering the drug, it's pretty much the silliest, least effective warning label ever.
"WARNING: THIS SLEEPING PILL MAY CAUSE YOU TO FALL ASLEEP. DO NOT SIMULTANEOUSLY SLEEP AND OPERATE FORKLIFT."
Honestly, I don't know what's worse -- that they feel the need to add a drowsiness label to the bottle of a sleeping pill, or that it's necessary for them to add it because there are people in the world dumb enough to pop an Ambien and then hop behind the wheel of a car. I mean. This shit knocks you out. That's the whole point!
"May cause drowsiness" indeed. Heh.
