time sure flies
Jan. 29th, 2008 08:22 pmI meant to be productive tonight, I really did. I had it all planned out. I was going to write, I was going to prepare more cover letters, I was going to throw out the disastrous remains of my ill-fated attempt to bake chocolate chip wedges...
But I was cold and tired by the time I got home, so instead of doing all of those productive things, I hunkered down in my armchair with a blanket and the cat, and had myself a marathon of The Office. Season 2, since it's the one I own. I played Seed for ages (it's a horribly addicting little flash game involving plant genetics, and I have no idea how it managed to suck me in the way it did). Now I'm a bit tired of splicing plants, so I think I'm going to switch over to Kingdom of Loathing for a while. And then? More of Steven Pinker's How the Mind Works.
*happy sigh*
I guess I need nights like this every once in a while. I don't know if it's about recharging my batteries or whatever, but I do know that the cold has been wearing me down like crazy. I'm not used to it.Because I'm a wuss. But baking heats my apartment up far more quickly than the heater does, so I've been trying to do it as much as possible. With, er, mixed results. Baking is hit or miss for me. I made butterscotch bread pudding last week, and it was amazing...and then this week's chocolate chip wedges taste like bleh. I don't know.
